About the expedition

A small outfit with one table.

How Field Strategists came to be, what it offers, and the things it deliberately does not.

Where the name comes from

A field strategist, as we use the phrase, is the person on an expedition who keeps the notebook. They are the one who measures before moving, writes down what the ground actually looks like rather than what the map promised, and changes course when the readings say so. That temperament suits blackjack surprisingly well. The game rewards attention and a steady hand far more than bravado.

We named the project after that role because it describes the kind of play we wanted to encourage: unhurried, observant, and honest about what the cards show.

What we built

Field Strategists is a social casino in the plainest sense. It offers one game, Bearing 21, and it is free from the first round to the last. You start with 1,000 virtual coins, play as many hands as you like, and can restore the balance at any time with a single button.

Behind the table is a real deck of 52 cards, shuffled with the browser's cryptographic random source and dealt one card at a time. Scoring follows standard blackjack conventions, including the flexible value of the ace. The house plays to a published rule, drawing below 17 and standing on every 17, and every stake, win and push is added up exactly.

What we left out

There is no store. Coins cannot be purchased, earned through advertising, gifted, exchanged or withdrawn, and they have no value anywhere outside the page you are playing on. There are no accounts to create, no daily streaks to protect and no countdowns nudging you back. When you close the tab, your session simply ends.

We also avoided anything that might blur the line between a pastime and real gambling. Field Strategists does not offer real-money wagering, does not advertise gambling operators and does not suggest that practice here leads to winnings elsewhere.

Who it is for

The table is intended for adults aged 18 and over who enjoy card games and like understanding exactly how a result was reached. The site is written for a general, international audience and is not tied to any single country.
